Wow! It’s been entirely too long since I’ve last written! So, a bit of catching up! Happy Thanksgiving! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Haha! Hard to believe all that is over!
PS – real life here, this post was partially written um, about 3 months ago, so here it is! I’m WAY behind but super excited to share what is all going which is a LOT!! So, read on! 🙂
Just road tripping with my hubby right not – driving from Colorado to South Dakota for our families Christmas celebrations!
What has happened since last update? We moved to Colorado! Jon, my hubby, got a job in Denver & so here we are! Living in our first apartment ever (after being married for 10 years!) – so the downsizing was, um, much needed! I work from home now, with my Advocare business & I am just getting into online coaching, “Styling for Life” my personal stylist business, life coaching, modeling for Mika Yoga wear (that just happened! Eeek!), & on Dec 28th I ended the year with a bang – I got signed on as a model for nxt|Model agency! God is SO good! More on that later…:)
As 2015 closed & I’m looking into my 2016 I want to share the highlights, but not to highlight me – but to show how Christ has worked in our lives (in spite of myself!)! I saw the movie “The War Room” – GO TO IT! – & loved her picture that had all her answered prayers, to remind herself of what God has done, so when she gets discouraged, she can look at it remember how faithful He is. So here is mine!
1.We knew God was telling us that we would be moving from SD…so He put in our hearts to sell our dream acreage. No realtor, no advertising. At a specific price that I wrote in my journal. At this time Jon just had applications in, no new job yet. 🙂 We went into action, packing, purging (Jon did more than me – I’ll admit it! He is amazing!). Long story short, all that happened: sold private sale to a beautiful family in May, for exactly the price I wrote in my journal. God got the tithe on what we made & I joke that it was His relator fee!
2. With the acreage sold, we did what anyone would do – move in with the in-laws! About right after that Jon got the call in June – he got a job & the location was 1 of the 4 places we had been praying about since around December! NO one gets the Denver location in Jon’s new job, they had 1 new person since 2008 because no one wants to leave or they transfer there. God is SO good! Jon went to 12 weeks of training in DC & did amazing – Top Gun award – that’s my MAN! He came home for about 2 weeks, then we moved to CO!
3. Apartments – I’ll make this as short as possible, but rent literally changes daily in CO at the place we knew we wanted to live. I had been praying over a petition with the apartment we wanted for a price that we wanted to get it for. It was getting really close, the one we wanted was going for WAY to high. We needed to sign for something – so we did. Not the one we wanted, but we were going to be there in 2 weeks! A day later they called, they had made a mistake…had us sign for a unit that was not available! I got excited, Jon got annoyed, but no worries they had another just like it. Jon signed his part, I waited until the next day & looked ONE last time at the plan we wanted – there it was! Only $100 more & usually it had been $400 more! Literally, it was that low of a price for 1 DAY! We got it! God is faithful!
4. I loved training clients so much, but a part of me KNEW other things were in store for me. As scary & uncomfortable as that is, I KNEW it. Well, here I am – I’m so blessed to have Advocare as a business so I don’t have to go get a “job” & I can pursue my dreams! One of them has been to model (like since I was 13! I’ve maybe watched “America’s Next Top Model” A LOT! Actually went to a casting for it & got thru 2 rounds…anyway). And it HAPPENED! I’m still in a bit of happy shock! WOW! I applied to two agencies & within not even an hour they BOTH contacted me! Long story, I signed a contract by the end of the day! BAM!
These are the big things…but there are so many little things! What I’m going to talk about next though is the struggle, this was not just all magical….but I can say that even though it was hard to accept & do some of theses things, I had not a MOMENT of anxiety, stress or lack of peace. Why? Because although I do a LOT wrong, one thing that I have been taught – AND have to keep reminding myself of DAILY mind you! – is to cast ALL my cares & anxieties upon Christ. He says it. I do it.
If I keep Him #1 in my life, He WILL work ALL things for GOOD for me! Plus, I really hate worrying or trying to think of all the possible “bad” scenarios…whew, ain’t NOBODY got time for that! Here are some of my reflections on this last CRAZY few months….my job is to stay in DAILY contact with Christ, keep growing myself by reading the Word & other books that grow me personally (I no longer read fiction – no time for that!) to become a better leader, personal trainer, coach, wife, mentor & friend. DAILY activities lead up to GOOD things or BAD things…. Cheesecake Factory every few months is ok….eating there 4 times a month = 🙁
My point is, it’s the DAILY little habits that add up to either your success or failure – in ANYTHING in life: your marriage, your finances, your health, your nutrition, your workouts, your spiritual life.
The AMAZING part is when you DAILY do consistent good habits, you WILL wake up one day & realize that you are AMAZED at where you are in life! More to come as I have a TON of catching up to do!! Blessing my Beautiful friends!!!
